Five steps

How Stash works

From a post on your phone to a reviewed change in your repo, with you in charge at every step.

1. Share a post

In TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X or Safari, tap Share, then Stash. You see the post's cover, title and creator. Optionally:

Stash saves the link, the public preview and your note to your private iCloud, or to your iPhone first if you're offline.

2. Your Mac reads it

The Stash menu bar app picks it up within a couple of minutes and runs your own Claude Code or Codex (your choice in Settings), sandboxed. With Read the whole post on, it first reads the post's captions and top comments with yt-dlp (and the video, briefly, when there are no captions). A free on-device first look skips obvious bait before any tokens are spent.

3. It becomes a tip

Claude writes one typed tip into ~/Stash/tips/: a skill, rule, tool, design guide, command or habit. It comes with a one-line takeaway, a 1–10 verdict on whether it's worth your time, and a label when the post is really promotion: the creator's own product, a sponsor, affiliate links or a sales funnel. If only the caption was visible, the tip says "Not judged yet" and your phone offers Let your Mac watch it.

4. Claude Code or Codex brings it up

Open Claude Code in a repo where a tip fits and it mentions it once, without interrupting your first request. In Codex, the same skills are available as $stash, $stash-suggest and $stash-apply. Or ask yourself:

CommandWhat it does
/stashWhat fits this repo, plus a menu. /stash <link> adds a post.
/stash:suggestProposes combined changes to your skills and CLAUDE.md.
/stash:apply <id>Applies one tip as a diff, a branch or a pull request.
~/code/miniapps · claude
>

Works the same in Codex: $stash-suggest.

5. You approve, it sticks

Every change is shown first. Approve it and Stash remembers per repo, so it won't suggest it again. Your weekly digest tells you which applied tips are still in place.
